Cookies & data cookies

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

– Web analytics & cookies

As an important part of creating a user-friendly website, we look at the user patterns of those who visit the site. To analyze the information, we use the analytics tool Google Analytics.

Google Analytics uses cookies (small text files that the website stores on the user’s computer), which register users’ IP addresses and provide information about individual user movements online. Examples of what the statistics tell us include: how many visit different pages, how long the visit lasts, which websites users come from, and which browsers are used. None of the cookies allow us to link information about your use of the site to you as an individual. Data related to cookies is automatically deleted 14 months after registration. You can manage the use of cookies yourself.

The information collected by Google Analytics is stored on Google’s servers in the USA. Received information is subject to Google’s privacy policy.

An IP address is defined as personal data because it can be traced back to specific hardware and thus to an individual. We anonymize the user’s IP address before the information is stored and processed by Google. Therefore, the anonymized IP address cannot be used to identify individual users.

Your IP address is also logged for a short period by our web servers. The user’s IP address, timestamp, web address, HTTP status, number of bytes sent, HTTP referer and HTTP user agent are logged for 15 days. After that, the log is automatically deleted.

Functional cookies are used to:

  • improve website performance by loading pages faster
  • improve user experience

Targeted cookies are used to:

  • let you share and like content
  • send information to other websites to customize their advertising

Examples of use

Cookies are used to provide you with better services, for example by:

  • enabling a service that recognizes your device, so you don’t have to provide the same information multiple times
  • measuring how many people use the services, so we can make them simpler and faster
  • analyzing data to help us understand how you use online services, so we can improve them.

If you don’t allow us to use cookies, certain functions and pages won’t work properly. If you want to delete cookies already stored on your computer, you must follow the browser instructions by clicking Help in the menu.

You can read more about cookies and how to use them at www.aboutcookies.org or by clicking Help in your browser.

Search

This website stores information about which search terms users use on our websites via Google Analytics. The purpose of storage is to improve our information offering. Search patterns are stored in aggregate form. Only the search term is stored, and they cannot be linked to other user information, such as IP addresses.

Facebook pixel

Facebook is our largest and most active social channel. To improve the interaction between Facebook and our website, we have installed Facebook’s “pixel” – a script that measures traffic across Facebook’s interface and our websites. We use the data collected by the pixel to deliver customized content to those who visit our websites, and for marketing on Facebook. For more information about privacy regarding Facebook, you can go to this link.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this page may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if the visitor had visited the website that the embedded content comes from.

These websites may collect information about you, use cookies, or embed third-party tracking systems and monitor what you do via this embedded content. This includes tracking your actions via the embedded content if you have an account and are logged into the website.

Share/tip service

The “Share with others” function can be used to forward links to the website by email, or to share content on social networks, such as Facebook or Twitter. Information about tips is not logged by us but is only used there and then to submit the tip to the social network. However, we cannot guarantee that the social network does not log this information. All such services should therefore be used wisely. If you use the email function, we only use the provided email addresses to forward the message without any form of storage.

Comments

Where it is possible for users to comment on articles, blogs, or products, name and email address are required. Name and email address may be published with the comment but are not stored by us.
