Motty AS processes personal data in order to provide our services, including the mediation of loan applications, giving you an overview of your financial situation, and presenting relevant financial offers.

This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data in connection with the use of the website motty.no and the My Motty service.

My Motty

My Motty is a personal user portal that provides an overview of your financial situation, debt, and potential loan opportunities.

Login is performed through secure authentication using BankID or Vipps.

By using the service, you confirm that:

  • you have read and accepted our privacy policy and terms

  • necessary information may be obtained through approved third-party integrations

  • the information may be used to analyse your financial situation and present relevant financial offers

To provide the service, we may—based on your consent or other legal basis—collect and process the following information:

  • identity information via BankID

  • contact information you register

  • credit information from Creditsafe

  • property information from Eiendomsverdi

  • information about unsecured debt from Gjeldsregisteret

  • financial information you enter in the system

The information is used to:

  • provide an overview of your debt and financial situation

  • calculate estimates of possible loan opportunities

  • present relevant loan alternatives

  • simplify the application process with partner banks

Information may be automatically updated at regular intervals to ensure that it remains accurate and up to date.

It is important to note that My Motty only provides an overview and estimates based on available data. The service does not constitute financial advice. Any loan offers are provided by partner banks following their own credit assessments.

Automated Assessments and Analysis

To provide an overview of your financial situation and possible loan alternatives, Motty may use automated analysis based on available information such as:

  • debt level

  • registered credit information

  • property values

  • income information

  • information you enter yourself

These analyses are used to generate indicative estimates and overviews within My Motty.

Any credit decisions or loan offers are always made by partner banks following their own credit assessments. Motty does not make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects for you.

Information, calculations, and estimates presented in My Motty are based on available data and automated analysis. The information should be regarded as indicative and cannot be considered as:

  • financial advice

  • a binding loan offer

  • a guarantee of credit approval

The final assessment of loan applications and terms is always carried out by the individual bank in accordance with its internal credit policies and applicable regulations.

Motty is not responsible for decisions made by banks or other financial institutions based on information presented in the service.

Third-Party Data Sources

Motty may obtain information from the following external data sources:

  • Gjeldsregisteret

  • Creditsafe

  • Eiendomsverdi

These companies are independent data controllers for personal data within their own systems. Motty only receives the information necessary to deliver the service to you.

Data Processors

Motty uses external suppliers (data processors) to deliver and improve our services, including:

  • analytics tools (Google Analytics)

  • advertising and conversion-tracking technology providers

  • IT infrastructure and system operation providers

Examples of advertising and analytics platforms may include:

  • Schibsted

All data processors process personal data according to data processing agreements and only based on our instructions.

Legal Basis for Processing

Motty processes personal data based on the following legal grounds:

Contract

When processing is necessary to fulfil an agreement with you, for example when using My Motty or when mediating a loan application.

Legitimate Interest

To improve services, analyse usage patterns, prevent misuse, and manage customer relationships, provided that your privacy interests do not override these interests.

Consent

Where required by law, for example when obtaining information from Gjeldsregisteret or for certain types of marketing.

Consent can be withdrawn at any time.

Legal Obligations

We may also process personal data in order to comply with legal requirements, including anti-money-laundering regulations and other financial legislation.

Storage and Deletion

Personal data is stored only as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose of the processing.

You may request deletion of your My Motty account at any time.

Upon account termination, personal data will be deleted or anonymised within 30 days, unless continued storage is required by law.

If an account remains inactive for 12 months, it may be automatically closed. Personal data will then be deleted or anonymised within 30 days after closure unless legal retention requirements apply.

Your Rights

Under data protection regulations, you have the following rights:

  • the right to correct inaccurate data

  • the right to deletion of personal data

  • the right to restriction of processing

  • the right to data portability

  • the right to object to processing

If you believe that the processing of your personal data violates applicable regulations, you have the right to file a complaint with Datatilsynet (the Norwegian Data Protection Authority).

Marketing

Motty may use contact information to send you information about our services and relevant financial offers.

This may be based on:

  • contacting our customer service
